While I’m in a posting kind of mood I’d like to say I’m extremely impressed with Sun’s new (2 years old, after reading up) VirtualBox. It’s incredibly easy to use; simply install the RPM from VirtualBox.org and off you go. The menus are self-descriptive and provide in-line help for all of the features, and you can easily point a new Virtual Machine to an ISO of an operating system.

I had a Windows XP iso sitting on my hard drive, so I tried that out, and it worked absolutely flawlessly. Incredible stuff.

Next I have to look into it’s VRDP support, which is a backwards compatible version of Microsoft’s proprietary Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). More posts later, maybe.

Oh, and no more having to mess around with Crossover; it was getting to be a huge pain in the ass …
