This past weekend a 22 year old was shot twice, one in the head and once in the back, for trying to intervene in a fight after hours at the Post Bar in Clinton Township. I don’t understand the world sometimes … people get angry enough to stop understanding reason and nobility. Shooting someone who is not carrying a gun, other potentially deadly weapon, or is posing a threat of grave and significant bodily harm is beyond the limits of my understanding. This kid was trying to do what was right and break up a fight (from what it sounds like), and this other moron ran to get a gun. Scary how incredibly stupid and brash some people can be.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A man accused in a fatal shooting at a Clinton Township bar last weekend is in police custody.

Edmond Dodaj, 26, was arrested at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home located in the area of 26 Mile and Schoenherr roads, according to Clinton Township police. Macomb County prosecutors issued a three-count warrant for Dodaj, including homicide open murder, weapons felony firearm and domestic violence, police said.

Dodaj is accused of a shooting William “Billy” Jedrzejek (pictured), 22, in the parking lot of the Post Bar, located at 41240 Hayes, near 18 Mile Road, at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to police. Witnesses told police that the victim was attempting to stop a dispute between a man and a woman, Local 4 reported.

Gunshots were fired and the shooter fled in a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer, which was later recovered by police, according to the station’s reports.

Jedrzejek’s girlfriend, Megan Ventimigila, said, “There was a confrontation between two other people, not including him.” She added that Jedrzejek “didn’t do anything wrong to deserve this.”

The victim’s father, William Jedrzejek Sr., told Local 4 that his son was shot at least two times, once in the head and once in the back. Jedrzejek was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Clinton Township, where he died a short time later.

Police later released a photograph of Dodaj Monday as a suspect in the case. A reward was offered for information leading to his arrest.

Dodaj is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at 41 B District Court.
